2014 Sportsman Driver Roster
Sportsman division cars are built on a full tubular chassis with certain restrictions, a tubular chassis with a “stock” front clip, or a full stock chassis. The division is designed for the driver and crew who want to gain driving and chassis set up experience in a fully adjustable car before shelling out the bigger dollars for a Late Model or above. The Sportsman car is a “big spring” car, and has limitations on the type of suspension that can be used as well as a track shock and tire rule. These cars use a less powerful crate motor or a built motor with more restrictions than a Late Model. The division is limited to a “stock” single plate clutch and flywheel, and no “quick change” rear ends are allowed. Bodies can be fiberglass or steel, or a combination of both, and have to meet certain specifications detailed in the rules for the division under the “Saturday Racing Rules” tab on the website. This division normally runs a 25 lap feature, with some extended length races scheduled throughout the season.
