2015 Late Model Driver Roster

Late Model

Designed as racing division for more experienced drivers and crews, the Late Models resemble any Late Model or Pro Stock division racing in the state, yet have rules designed to contain costs and keep the competition close. These cars are based on a tubular chassis that is custom built, usually by one of the several race shops in the state. The suspension system, most predominantly a “coil over” suspension, has limitations with track specified shock absorbers as well as limitations on the amount of spring travel allowed. Engines are limited to certain “crate” engines as well as an option for those wishing to build their own engine. The specific rules for engine building can be found on this website under the “Saturday Racing Rules” tab, as can the rules for the chassis and body configurations. The fiberglass bodies used on these cars are the most common ones seen in asphalt Late Model racing, and have certain tolerances specified to eliminate anyone gaining an aerodynamic advantage. Nine inch racing slicks are used in this division and tire usage is controlled by the track tech officials to eliminate overspending in this area. The Late Models run a 40 lap feature on a regular race night, with extended length features scheduled periodically throughout the season.
